Duluth, MN – A Duluth firefighter is accused of sexually abusing a 4-month-old child and surreptitiously recording a 6-year-old child in various stages of undress, according to charges filed Thursday.

The charges against 32-year-old Caleb Stuart Lofald of Hermantown are detailed in a criminal complaint released by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors charged Lofald with four crimes, including second-degree criminal sexual conduct, possession of child pornography and interference with privacy of a minor.

The charges came after police executed search warrants at Lofald’s home and at the Duluth Heights fire station in November.
The charges allege that investigators retrieved photos of a hand touching the genitals of the 4-month-old girl.

In another case, prosecutors said Lofald secretly recorded both a 6-year-old male and an adult female undressing and showering in the guest room at his home.

Lofald is being held at the St. Louis County Jail and will appear in court today.
