EL PASO, Texas – Officials say El Paso police have arrested a U.S. Border Patrol agent on suspicion of sexual assault of a child.
The 29-year-old man was arrested Friday and released from El Paso County Jail the following day on a $75,000 bond. Police officials didn’t respond to questions by the El Paso Times about the case.
Border Patrol officials say the man is on administrative leave pending a review. He has been with the Border Patrol since 2009 and had been assigned to the Ysleta station.
The agency said in a statement that it takes every allegation of misconduct seriously. It said the El Paso Sector will cooperate fully with the investigation.
