Asst. principal arrested for child abuse, battery.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Duval County Public Schools employee was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly threw a juvenile over a doggy barricade, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Harold Stormer, 34, has been charged with child abuse and domestic battery. Stormer is an assistant principal assigned to a Department of Juvenile Justice site, a DCPS spokesperson told First Coast News.

Stormer is currently on leave and will be assigned to report to an alternate work location upon his return, pending the outcome of investigations, spokesperson Marsha Oliver said.

According to the incident report, a 35-year-old woman told police she was at home when she got into a dispute Stormer. She said the argument got loud and a child started screaming at the suspect to stop. Stormer told the juvenile to go to their room and when the juvenile refused, Stormer went to go strike the child, but the woman got between them to stop him.

Police say Stormer then pushed her with both hands and grabbed the juvenile by the arms and dragged them across the living room. The woman told police Stormer picked up the juvenile and threw them over a doggy barricade.

Stormer then allegedly dragged the victim down the hall and threw them over a second doggy barricade.

The report says when Stormer reached the child’s bedroom, he allegedly tossed the victim into the room. The woman said she grabbed Stormer’s shirt and ripped it trying to stop him. She said she finally got in front of the bedroom door and stayed between Stormer and the juvenile. She says Stormer then left the home, and the victims left the house.

The juvenile victim suffered bruises under the left arm and scratches on the left arm, according to the police report.
