U.S. Marshals searching for father accused of abuse; toddler son on life support
MIDFIELD, AL – The U.S. Marshals have been called into help with the search for a father accused of abusing his son, who is now in Children’s Hospital on life support.
“It’s just a really tough situation now and the only thing I can say is everybody just try to really pray for this baby, and maybe, you know, miracles happen, so, it could happen…”
“Frankly, it’s going to take a miracle for this baby to survive,” said Jefferson County District Attorney Bill Veitch. “But I hope and I pray that it will.”
The Midfield toddler is on life support after allegedly being beaten by his own father, 25-year-old Dominic Moore.
Investigators say Moore is facing aggravated child abuse charges after two incidents that happened at his home.
Moore’s two and a half year-old son was first taken to Children’s of Alabama friday with a broken femur, he was treated, then sent home. But then on Sunday night, the boy was brought back to the hospital with more severe injuries and head trauma, and was put on life support.
Veitch says while he’s seen child abuse cases before, this one is really hard to deal with.
“It’s just a really tough situation now and the only thing I can say is everybody just try to really pray for this baby, and maybe, you know, miracles happen, so, it could happen,” he said, “The baby could survive this. I certainly hope that he does.”
Veitch says if the child doesn’t survive, the charges against Moore will be upgraded to capital murder. When Moore is arrested, he will be held on $500,000 bond.

I have a toddler nephew and I just can’t imagine why or how anyone would actually beat up their child. Thanks for sharing!

All I have to say is there are some really guttless punks in this world.

Sorry, you made me suddenly(trigger) think of 2 boys I used to know. The odd thing about them was the fact that they actually believed they had made GOD mad at them for doing something.
You know I went and read part of 4 posts of yours, I have to go finish the one on Bullys, you know that almost always there are more than one adult in the big middle of Bullying, yes the same 2 boys is the reason I know that.
Yes we are nothing near perfect, but you know what, and I don’t feel bad for saying this, we are nothing like some of these pieces of crap. I suppose I should have just made reference to a dung heap, I am a gentleman, but I can still hear that bull whip.

I MUST EXPRESS HOW MY HEART IS BREAKING TO KNOW THAT A PERSON/PEOPLE COULD AND WOULD B THIS HEARTLESS TO BRING HARM TO A CHILD WHETHER YOURS OR SOMEONE ELSE’S.
