Paying back for what I was freely given

Nothing in life is Free, especially Knowledge

I know everyone of us has heard, at some point in their life, someone saying “I worked for EVERYTHING I got“, “NOBODY ever gave me anything“, or especially this one “Get out and buy your own self a car, nobody ever gave me nothing unless I earned it“.

I can remember the look on his face as he told the story; I know there had to be a smile on my face, because Frank was smiling.  I look at Frank everyday, and everyday he smiles at me, just like He did, so long ago.  ” .…and it was cold, I mean REAL cold.  You can’t imagine day after day being cold, so cold you hurt, then there’s the nights”.

I never knew many good men, until I was 17;  “….finally our winter uniforms and gear caught up to us.”  I can still see his face, smiling, always smiling at his boys.  One thing never changed my whole life, make that 2, I always knew My Dad was the Best Man I ever knew.

I can’t imagine anyone hurting a Child, that has never happened around me and Frank but maybe 2 times since I was 17.  I also can’t imagine anyone gutless enough to say something bad to an Elder.  Today, in this dog eat dog, what’s wrong is right and what’s right is wrong world we’re living in, all that matters is I, I, I, or me, me, me.  All of a sudden we got hundreds of thousands of self proclaimed sages pontificating proudly from behind their computers “it’s that homophobic mouse’s fault, HE named the Redskins”….

The bottom line is, people are playing knockout with Our Parents and GrandParents. They are being robbed as they come out of the supermarket; bones are being broken as they punch and kick the ones who used to give us caramel apples on Halloween.  How can you not hear the call for help;  someone, anyone, Help Please….

was a junior at Roanoke-Benson High School, but spent her freshman and sophomore years at Havana High School.

Lindsey’s parents want to share her story with the hope that someone being bullied or battling depression will hear it and take another route. They say there needs to be more awareness, because right now those topics are just swept under the rug. “When it comes to bullying, it’s a simple comment. It’s a simple, you’re fat. Zero tolerance means zero tolerance,” said Linsey’s dad, Danny Helfers. “I know you are kids, but think before you say something. It’s more than just words. It lasts forever for us now, it’s the rest of our lives.” “She made people happy and laugh and kept everything she was hurting inside and she couldn’t deal with it anymore,” said Lindsey’s mom Linda Helers.

Experts at the Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria say more than 160,000 students don’t want to go to school each day because they are afraid of being bullied. The director of prevention services, Marcia Bolden says there are signs to watch out for if you think someone is being bullied. Those include being withdrawn, having a hard time focusing and not eating. Research shows that depression can be an outcome of bullying and experts say reporting it is key to stopping the cycle. “I want to speak to those bystanders, those individuals that are also generally present,” said Bolden. “Speak up, be a voice for that person that has experienced the bullying. You could save someone’s life.”

Visitation for Lindsey is Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Her funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m. Both are at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin.

If you suspect someone is being bullied or is battling depression you can get help by calling the Center for Prevention of Abuse at (309) 691-0551

Never Discipline A Child When You Are Angry!!!!

Police: Texas Soldier Beat Daughter To Death

While testing different search syntax, and noting the differences in how the news was filtered, I found this… 4 hours ago.
Two months ago, while putting together the NOT IN MY WORLD!!!! Google+ Page, I had already decided not to bring mine and Little Brother’s life into this.

The first part of our life wasn’t half bad. The reason being, it was spent with The Best Man I was ever to know. Our Father was a Good Man, who loved us, His Boys.

But that was just half the time.

We lived in fear, day and night, the rest of the time. We spent a good part of our early life around Military People, and on several bases. Our Step-Dad was Army Secret Service in Korea, then spent time in Vietnam with the Navy Seabees. For as far back as I can remember, we always believed in GOD. I know this because we prayed for GOD to kill us everyday. But we always thought GOD was mad at us, maybe we had done something HE didn’t like, OR maybe he just didn’t like us.

We always went to church, and we were Bullyed and physically hurt every service, by several boys.  This happened In PLAIN SIGHT OF MANY ADULTS, who never said one word to stop them, but would laugh at us or snicker. I KNOW all this was real and happened, because we were BEAT after every service.

If I had said this 2 months ago, this Child might still be alive.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER Discipline A Child When You Are Angry!!!!

EL PASO, Texas — El Paso police have charged a Fort Bliss soldier with capital murder after they say he beat his 2-year-old daughter to death because she soiled her diaper.

Police Det. Mike Baranyay says 20-year-old Dartarious Graham was arrested Sunday.

He says the U.S. Army specialist beat his daughter, Peyton Graham, with a belt Saturday. When firefighters were called to the home, they found her unresponsive. She was taken to an area hospital where she later died.

The child’s mother and the father’s cousin also were charged with injury to a child by omission.

Graham is being held at the El Paso jail on $250,000 bond. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
