‘Low risk’ registered sex offender arrested after San Angelo child makes outcry of abuse

SAN ANGELO, TX  –  A San Angelo man, previously convicted for indecency with a child in 1995, has been arrested in connection to a recent child sex abuse case, according to court documents obtained Monday, May 16.

A child, 11, made an outcry of sexual abuse and named a San Angelo man.  The child stated the man had inappropriately touched them multiple times between Jan. 5, 2020 through Nov. 29, 2020, in San Angelo, according to the arrest affidavit.

During an interview with investigators, the man admitted to what the child reported, records state.

Deputies arrested Reymundo Luna, 61, on suspicion of continuous child sex abuse of a child younger than 14 years old.  He remained in Tom Green County Detention Center with no bond listed as of 4:45 p.m. Monday, according to online jail records.

Luna previously pleaded guilty to four counts of indecency with a 9-year-old child in Tom Green County in 1995, for which he received 10 years deferred adjudication, a type of probation that could have helped him avoid conviction if he followed the rules of the agreement.

That probation was revoked in 2005 due to unsupervised meetings with a child younger than 17, being within 1,000 feet of a place children congregated and not going to counseling.  He was then sentenced to 4 years in prison.

The Texas Public Sex Offender Registry listed Luna as “low risk. ”  This means he “pose(d) a low threat to the community in terms of engaging in further criminal sexual conduct,” according to nealdavislaw.com.

Police in Visalia responded to the call of a child who was not breathing after being left in a parked vehicle for an extended period of time, according to investigators.

Police detectives say they believe the child, now identified as Jessica Campos, was left in the vehicle for up to three hours before anyone discovered her.  Investigators say the outdoor temperature was at least 100 degrees at the time.

An officer who was on an unrelated call nearby responded to the scene and took over CPR from family members who were trying to revive the child.

When fire and ambulance personnel arrived they took over the efforts and the child was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, investigators say.

According to investigators, Jessica’s mother had been tending to a marijuana grow and processing marijuana during the time the child was left inside the vehicle.

Five people have now been arrested including Jessica’s mother Eustajia Dominguez Mojica, 28, and four other adults found in the residence at the time: Araceli Mojica, 33; Emmanuel Ortiz-Aguilar, 34; Valentin Aguilar Ortiz, 27; and Victor Flores Corona, 41.

Mojica, Ortiz-Aguilar, Ortiz, and Corona were booked for charges of child endangerment.

Eustajia Dominguez Mojica, the child’s mother, has been booked for charges of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

For a Parent, it should never be
one of THEM times

As always… well, most days.. I looked at our stats.

Today I came across something that I didn’t recognize, and I came very close to shutting the computer down right then and there.

It was just a feeling that part of me wishes I would have heeded… (Jacob) However, THAT is not the man that is sitting here.

My mind has already seen Frank when we were little boys, our Father, our GrandMother, and her two sisters who are our Aunts… in flash-backs probably fifty times already, since looking up the post I didn’t recognize… and I have Thanked Our Dear Mighty GOD already for Our Father, Our GrandMother, and Our Aunts. (Jacob)

From the time we were little boys, if Our Father was not with us, Our GrandMother and her older and younger Sisters, who are Our Aunts, would NOT let us be around any older boys or men by ourselves, and that includes our uncles on that side of the family, except for Uncle Frank who was Our Aunt Ida’s husband.  This is Our UnCivilized side. (Jacob)

You might wonder why I included the last paragraph in this, while it should be quiet obvious, I don’t mind enlightening everyone, since so many want to keep this a dark secret.

A major percentage of the Children we grew up with were victims of sexual abuse.  I hope no one of you jump to the conclusion that I have no proof of this fact.  In 1969, Vincent De Francis published the results of his study of sexual abuse of children, and in it he stated that the findings strongly point to the probability of an enormous national incidence many times larger than the reported incidence of physical abuse of children.  I found this in “Child Protection History In America” from the ABA.

At this time I will say that the numbers that are listed say that in 1990, 27% of the abused Children was physically abused, which would mean that between 50 – 75% of the abused Children was sexually abused. HOWEVER, I am more than glad to point out that none of these numbers can be trusted, since these state that about 5 Children die per day due to abuse, although that number is above 10, and most probably as high as 13, and most probably 15 Children a day die from abuse. *Government Accountability Office

Notorious Houston serial killer up for parole

A mother and father from Pasadena drove to an office building in Angleton Thursday for a closed-door parole hearing on one of Houston’s most notorious killers.

Their son, a 13 year-old boy named Stanton Dreymala, may not be remembered by many people in the Houston area, but what happened to him is seared in the collective memory of a generation of Houstonians. He was one of at least 28 boys and young men lured to a horrifying death in what became known as the Houston mass murders.  “He was just a normal 13 year-old,” said his mother, Elaine Dreymala.  “He went to school, he rode his bike, he mowed lawns for his spending money.”

Between 1971 and 1973, a man named Dean Corrl recruited two teenaged accomplices – David Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley – to entice other youngsters to his homes, where they were drugged, raped and sexually tortured – sometimes for days – before they were murdered.  Some of the terrified victims were forced to write notes telling their mothers they were leaving town shortly before they were killed.

Elmer Wayne Henley Jr. received six life sentences in 1974, suffice it to say he’ll likely never be released from prison.

Per the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Henley is currently incarcerated in the Mark W. Michael Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas.

Henley was most recently denied parole in 2015 and will be eligible for his next parole review in 2025.

An Alabama couple is facing criminal charges for the death of their toddler son, who police said was found dead Sunday in a hot car.

The toddler was found unresponsive on the spot

Officers were sent to Hodges around 4:00 pm. against the background of reports of a three-year-old child with no answer in the car.  Franklin County Police said in a statement that an ambulance attempted to resuscitate the boy, but he was pronounced dead on the spot.

The boy’s parents, 20-year-old Dakota Fowler and 21-year-old Brandy Burks, reportedly said they last saw their baby at midnight as they put him to bed.  When they woke up at 3:00 pm, they couldn’t find their son and found him in the car, police said.

Investigators identified the deceased child as Bentley Fowler.

Autopsy reports revealed that the toddler died due to heatstroke

On Sunday the temperature in Hodges reached 93 degrees.  Although Fowler and Burks were arrested and charged with manslaughter, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver called their son’s death an accident.

The baby’s body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.   Records show Fowler and Burks remain in prison.

According to No Heatstroke, Bentley Fowler became the 15th Child to die in a hot car this year.  In 2019, 52 children died from car heatstroke.

I Have An Update From KidsandCars.org

Unfortunately, there have been 15 hot car deaths this year in the U.S.  Not surprisingly, given the pandemic and children being home more frequently, the percentage of children that gained access to a vehicle on their own is nearly double the average this year (47% this year vs 26% on average).

Today, Thursday, August 13th KidsAndCars.org is joining the National Highway Safety Administration  and is hosting a Tweet-up to raise awareness about preventing hot car deaths.  Please join us in posting throughout the day using the hashtags #heatstrokekills, #lookbeforeyoulock and #passtheHotCarsAct

Killer Takes Children Unattended In Vehicles

On Monday, July 20, 2020, the 11th Child this year was taken in Arkansas while playing in a vehicle.  Her 15-month-old sister remains in critical condition.

Two days earlier, on Saturday July 18, 2020, the killer was there in Texas when the little boy climbed into the vehicle and started playing.  There were no eye witnesses when the unseen stalker took the 10th Child this year.

In Kentucky, Saturday July 11, as the little girl played in the vehicle, someone had to see and know the danger, even before the 9th Child was taken.

Every one of the Children on this list lost their lives due to HEAT STROKE.
