Teacher charged with 24 sex crimes after posting TikToks of students, school says

A former Tennessee elementary school teacher is facing two dozen child sex charges including rape after police say she posted inappropriate videos of students to TikTok.

Taylor Cruze, 23, was indicted last week by a grand jury in Smyrna as a result of a police investigation in connection to the felony crimes, Rutherford County Schools spokesperson James Evans told USA TODAY.

Evans said that prior to her arrest last month, Cruze was a first-year fifth-grade teacher at John Colemon Elementary School in Smyrna, about 25 miles southeast of Nashville.

She was suspended without pay May 2, Evans said, and resigned from her job May 22.

Evans did not provide additional details about the case to USA TODAY, including what the TikTok videos contained or when they were posted.

On Aug. 3, court records show, officials issued a warrant for Cruze’s arrest and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office arrested her Aug. 10.

Cruze is charged with multiple counts of exploitation of a minor under 13 by electronic means, exploitation of a minor by electronic means and especially aggravated sex exploitation of a minor.  She also faces charges of solicitation of a minor – rape of a child, and sexual battery by an authority figure.

Court documents show that at the time of her arrest, Cruze lived in Murfreesboro, about 14 miles south of the elementary school.

On Wednesday, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lisa Marchesoni told USA TODAY her current address was listed in Knoxville.

A jail spokesperson told USA TODAY Wednesday that Cruze posted a $100,000 bond the same day she was arrested.

Court records show she is due in court on Sept. 28 for a plea hearing.

Evans said the school district is “fully cooperating with law enforcement” as the investigation continues.

Sheron Butler, 36

Mesa, AZ – A teacher and football coach at a Mesa charter school was arrested by police Sunday on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor after a 17-year-old girl revealed she was having a sexual relationship with him, police said.

The teenager contacted a counselor at a summer camp she was attending, telling the counselor about the relationship. The counselor then notified police, according to Detective Steve Berry, a Mesa police spokesman.

In interviews with police, the victim said she had sex with Sheron Butler, 36, a teacher at her school, several times, and that the situation began in early 2015, Berry wrote in a statement.

Butler was identified by police as a teacher and football coach at Sequoia Charter School.

Police launched their investigation on Saturday, when they were called by the counselor. Butler answered a few basic questions when police went to his home in East Mesa, but quickly asked to consult with an attorney.

Butler was arrested by detectives on suspicion of four counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police ask that anyone with additional information regarding the case call them at (480) 644-2211.

Pennsylvania School District failed to report Teacher Molesting 8-yr-olds

A strange thought occurred to me and I couldn’t help but sit and wonder.

I know nothing of atheist, but as I sat looking at this headline, this thought occurred to me:  I wonder who atheist blame, since I have heard time and time again “The Devil made me do it”.

Everyone, or most people anyway, seem to have the notion that Our Children are protected by laws.  On the contrary, Pennsylvania has just reworked many of their laws concerning Children and Maltreatment, yet here is what I found in Courthouse News….

PHILADELPHIA – Southeast Delco School District ignored and failed to report complaints of an elementary teacher’s abuse of little girls, allowing him to sexually molest two 8-year-olds, the parents claim in Federal Court.
